PHOTOGRAPHY: REFLECTIONS ACROSS THE HOLY LAND

“The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.”Marcus Aurelius

Throughout my lifetime I have stood in the ghettos of Mexico and photographed, walked through the streets of London a week after the summer 2005 bombings, arrived in Paris for the 2010 World Cup competition and watched the crowds riot. I've seen the snow scatter quietly across Moscow as I landed in the airport, and have traveled extensively throughout the United States. None of the above experiences can compare to the images I have been able to capture on film since living in Israel.

Photography is the study of light. For me at least fifty-one percent of my travels to

new destinations is derived from the photographic experience. The randomness of light, combined with its ability to alter people, objects, places, and nature fascinates me.

NAZARETH

Being able to come to Israel to study and live has been an opportunity of a lifetime. As a photographer, I am captivated the most by the cities of Nazareth and Tsfat. I see things in Nazareth that I haven't found anywhere else in the Holy Land: the advertising and graphic art is uniquely different. It hosts the cheapest shuk, and the flavor/ culture of the people has its own vibe.

Looking forward to the pandemic ending. Tourism and travel opening up again. I have missed going abroad and seeing the world these past few years.

I wanted to limit this photography gallery to 25 images so it won't take forever to load when viewing. If you've never been to Israel, how can I show you the culture, people, art, ancient places, and spirituality in 25 images? This is the goal that I set out to achieve. My plan is to continuously update this gallery every 3-4 months.
